SECTION 1
Take Attendance
Logged in to your Enriching Students account, the first page you will see is the Dashboard. At the top of the page, you will see a box for each day of the week. This box displays the total number of seats you have. Then it shows how many students you have taken attendance for, compared to the number of students that are scheduled to see you. You can only take attendance for the current day, or days in the past.
To take attendance, select the Take Attendance button.
On the Take Attendance page, you can take attendance for an individual students, or all students in a period at once. If your school has multiple flex periods, like the school in this example, you will have a tab for each period. See an example of a flex period tab circled in the image below.
If you are an Admin user, you will also see a selection field that allows you to choose another staff member to take attendance for. See underlined in the image above.
So, how do you take attendance?
1. If you want to take attendance for all students in a period, use the dropdown selection at the top of the student list, right under the period name that says Set Attendance for All. You will see all of your school's attendance options here.
Once you've made your selection, make sure you click the Save button that is at the top right of the student list.
Even once you have taken attendance and saved it, it is possible to make changes for individual students. For example, if all students but one were Present/Participating, you could set all students to that attendance type to save time, and then just make changes to that one student who may not have been participating, or was absent. In addition you can check a student as tardy, and add comments.
2. You can take attendance for each individual as well, just like we did when we were making changes. You can go through your list of students and select an attendance type for each one, again adding comments, or checking the Tardy box to some as tardy if necessary. Be sure to click Save any time you make changes.
SECTION 2
Add an Attendance Comment
To add a comment, select the Actions button next to a student's name, and choose Add Comment.
A box to type in your comment will slide out. Type your comment, and click Save. If you don't want to add a comment, select Cancel.
There will be a speech bubble icon any time you have added a comment (see circled in the image below). If you click on it, you will see the comment you added. To edit or remove the comment, select Actions, and then Edit Comment or Remove Comment. For any comment edits you make, be sure to select Save again to save changes.
SECTION 3
Remove a Student from Attendance List
To remove any student, click Actions next to their name and choose Remove Student.
SECTION 4
View Your Appointments
For future days when you can't take attendance, you can still see who is scheduled to you, and send students notifications or create a student group.
You will notice that on the Dashboard any days in the future have a grey button that says View Appointments. Select this button and you will be able to see which students are scheduled to see you. If you have multiple periods, select the tab with the period name to see students scheduled in that period. This view will be the same as what you see when you go to take attendance, but you will not be able to select attendance types and save.
SECTION 5
Send Students a Message from the Dashboard
Let's say there is a group of students that has been scheduled to you, and you want a way to be able let them know what they will be doing when they come to see you, or perhaps some things they will need. For this you can select Take Attendance if this is occurring on the current day, or if it's a group scheduled to see you at a future date, you can choose View Appointments. Find the period that those students are scheduled in.
At the top of the page, select Send Notification.
Here, type out the message you want your students to receive. When you select Save all students scheduled to you for this period will be emailed the information.
SECTION 6
Create a Student Group from the Dashboard
Let's say you also want to see scheduled group of students again, and you want a way to easily schedule them. You can create a group of students from here as well. Again, make sure you have selected the correct period. Then choose the Create Group button.
If you want to these students to be in a new group, select Create New Group. Or, you can choose a group under Or Add To if you want to if add them to an already existing group.
If you select Create New Group, you will need to add a Group Title. Whichever option you choose, you can also uncheck the box next to individual student names if you don't want to include them in this group. (See circled in the image below).
Once you save them, you can now go over the the Manage Student Groups page, and you will see these students listed here.
To schedule them, go to the Appointments page, and find them in the Select Group dropdown.
