Kiosk Mode allows you to have one dedicated device in your classroom where you or a student can create a hall pass. There are a few ways to use kiosk mode to create passes, check out the video below for a quick walkthrough, and scroll down for more details.
Table of Contents
Access Kiosk Mode
To get to Kiosk Mode, login to Enriching Students, and from the Dashboard go to My Student Passes, and select the Kiosk Mode button.
A window will slide out where you will need to enter a 6 digit pin.
This pin is what will allow you to exit kiosk mode. If you forget your pin, you can simply log out of Enriching Students to exit kiosk mode instead. Select Save to enter the pin, or Cancel to stay in Kiosk Mode.
Use the Scanner
Your school may want students to use a barcode or QR code to create a pass. If this is the case, make sure your device has its camera turned on for the browser you are using. Students can simply hold up their barcode or QR code to the scanner. Once the camera scans code, it will beep notifying you that Student Pass has identified the student, and then will ask them to enter a location.
Once they do and select Save Pass, the timer for their pass will begin.
When they return to pass, simply select the Return Pass button. You will be able to see at a glance if their pass has expired, and can also see any passes that have been placed in a queue if the requested location is full.
Create a Pass Manually
If your school will not be having students scan to create passes, select the Enter Student Info Manually button. You or the student can enter their Student Id or email address and click Search, and then select the location. Once the information is correct, select Save Pass and the scanner will start, as you can see in the examples above. You or the student can select Return Pass when they have returned . You can switch back to the scanner by selecting the Use Scanner button.
Leave Kiosk Mode at any time by selecting Exit Kiosk Mode, and enter your 6 digit pin or simply logout of Enriching Students.
