What To Expect When You Return
Based on feedback we've received from schools, there won't be any major changes rolled out while schools are away for summer break. There might be a few minor tweaks and bug fixes, but the staff and student sites will be fundamentally the same as when school went on summer break.
As is true every year, the site will be down for several days so that we can:
- Run updates on the database
- Updates on the server
- Remove historical data
The site will be taken down on Friday, July 3rd at 7 AM. It will be back up and running by Wednesday, July 8th at 7 AM.
We'll be removing all of the appointments for the 2025-2026 school year. We place them in a backup location. If you need access to that data, please feel free to open a support ticket and let us know what you need. We're happy to export the data and make it available at any time.
Importing Data
There's always a window of time when updated data is not available to us via the nightly sync, (Clever, ClassLink or OneRoster.) In order to not import data before the school is ready, we deactivate the import process for all schools.
We regularly review Clever and ClassLink to determine if the data for the new school year is available. Once we see that it's available, we'll run the import process. For schools that use OneRoster files, there's no way for us to determine if the data is ready or not. Please open a support ticket if your school's data is ready and we'll run the imports straight away.
Removing Soft-Deleted User
Once we've run the initial import for a school, it's likely a number of users will be soft-deleted. Students that have graduated and staff that are no longer working at the school are examples of users that might be soft-deleted on the initial import.
Once the initial import process has completed, we'll remove any users that have been soft-deleted. Please keep in mind that if a user was manually created and has been marked as "Ignore on Import", it will be up to you to manage that user as there's no way for us to know if the user is still part of your school or not.
Automation
During the summer break, we deactivate all of the automation rules that were created. The automated jobs will not be automatically restarted once we've done the initial import; we need to hear from your school before the automation will be restarted. When you're ready to have the automation start running again, please open a support ticket and let us know.
Conclusion
We really appreciate the privilege we have in working with all of you. We hope you have an amazing summer and we look forward to a great 2026-2027 school year.
