This document describes the updates to the application that will be released on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
New tool! Student Pass
We're excited to announce our soon-to-be released digital hall pass, Student Pass! This will eliminate the need for a whole separate tool to manage student movement.
If your school decides to use Student Pass, you will be able to access it from your Dashboard. Staffers can create, approve, and reject passes, while admin users can also manage things like pass destinations, and set up student restrictions to prevent conflict and meetups.

Navigation
You have the option of using the updated Navigation menu.
Essentially, it takes the four items that most staff interact with regularly:
- Dashboard
- Appointments
- Take Attendance
- Adjusted Offerings
And moves them to the top of the menu. To try it out, simply click the "Try Our New Navigation" link at the top of the Navigation. You can switch back if you prefer the current approach.
Dashboard
The day of the week has been added to the dashboard on the Take Attendance section.
Additionally, you can try the new dashboard layout. On the dashboard, click the "Try Our New Dashboard" link. The new design presents the data in ways that make it easier to see what your day and your upcoming week look like.
We've also added some touches such as displaying the room the staffer will be using in the My Week Ahead section.
Again, you can try out the view and switch back if you're not ready to work with the new design.
Student Scheduling
A new configuration value has been added to the application that will allow you to limit the courses a student can see when self scheduling.
To activate this feature, go to Admin, Configuration, Student Settings and select Limit Students to Scheduling to Their Student Groups.
Analysis
The analysis page has been redesigned to make it easier to interact with the report controls. Instead of listing the reports down the side, they all appear in a drop down list.
Additionally, we have added the user SIS Id to more of the reports.
There are several new reports:
Students By Self Scheduling Permissions
This reports lists all of the students and whether or not they have self scheduling permissions. The students are grouped by those that do have the permission and those that don't.
Staff Without Adjusted Offerings
This report will prove helpful to schools that limit students to scheduling only to adjusted offerings. For the selected date, it lists all the staff that have not created an adjusted offering.
Simple Roster
This report prints the student, appointment date, instructor and schedule. It's one line per record, sorted by the student name, which makes it easy to find a single student and determine where the student is assigned to.
Staff Capacity and Usage
This is not a new report, but we've adjusted it to include the department information. The data is sorted first by department, then by staffer.
Manage Staff
When managing groups of staff and removing Admin permissions, it was possible for a user to remove themselves as an admin. This is no longer possible.
